I am amazed at our country’s beauty. Having been living abroad for 7 years now makes me enjoy and see Mexico from another perspective. We have started our Photography Workshop for the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca, one of Mexico’s most beautiful cities. The workshop is co-produced by my company, Photo Xpeditions and National Geographic Expeditions. Students come from various latitudes: California, Arizona, Florida, Holland and Mexico City to mention a few.
On our first day we had a presentation of Kenneth Garrett’s work in Egypt and the Americas, from Mexico to Patagonia. Raul Touzon also presented his fabulous work split in three parts: 1) a recent documentary on the Everglades that was published this month in the Spanish version of the National geographic Magazine, 2) A compilation of some of his top photos of Mexico; and 3) Some of his underwater photos. All of the students seemed to enjoy the tremendous display of talent by both photographers.
On my end, here are some of the photos that I was able to capture yesterday in Montealban and the beautiful church of Santo Domingo and its museum, I hope you enjoy them….
I promise not to post as many pictures every day but keep tuned for more as we approach the Day of the Dead…..
